Holy Orders

At Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Holy Orders is the sacrament through which God calls and sets people apart to serve the Church as deacons, priests, and bishops. We believe this calling is a gift of the Holy Spirit, and that God calls whomever God chooses.

In keeping with our Independent Catholic tradition, ordination here is open to all who are truly called, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or marital status. Women and men, married and single, LGBTQ+ and straight alike may answer a call to Holy Orders and be ordained in the historic line of apostolic succession. What matters is not who you are or whom you love, but whether God is calling you to serve.

A vocation to Holy Orders is discerned slowly and prayerfully, in honest conversation with the community and with those who guide us. If you sense that God may be calling you to the diaconate or the priesthood, we would be honored to walk with you as you listen, and to help you take the next steps toward formation within our tradition.

If you would like to begin a conversation about a possible vocation, or simply to learn more, please reach out to Father Brett. Every calling starts with a single step, and we would be glad to take it alongside you.
